Diverse Performing Arts School is delighted and proud to present its 10th anniversary show – ‘A Decade of Diverse’. The show will encompass showbiz history of the last ten years, in a broad pastiche divided into ‘then’ and ‘now’, paying tribute to the last decade in the history of Diverse performing arts.
‘Then’:‘Then’, takes you back to some of our earliest memories, reminiscing with some of Diverse Performing Arts School’s most well-received numbers in our last ten productions. Our feisty girls will give their inspired girl-power interpretation of the Spice Girls from 2010, the lads will woo the audience once again with their rendition of ‘I Can’t Help Myself’ from 2017. We’re revamping our clap-along debut musical theatre production, ‘Hairspray’, from 2009, and revisiting our impassioned performance of Les Mis from 2014. Finally, we’re going to be doing a dark and enigmatic dance tribute to the thrilling trilogy of ‘The Hunger Games’ together with a slick and calculated performance of Chicago’s ‘Cellblock Tango’ from way back in 2009.
‘Now’: Following our retrospective celebration of the school’s work, we look forward to the future by anticipating the next ten! We’re smashing into the 2020’s with an incredible, high-octane Beyoncé medley, ‘Turning (the) Tables’ on Adele’s hit song with a stunning contemporary piece. We follow with the fabulous song and dance number ‘Trip a Little Light’ from Mary Poppins returns, seeing the return of our rowdy Cockney lads! We’re putting on a classic, spectacular tap tribute to the West End hit musical ‘42nd Street’, followed by our magnum opus. As has become our cherished tradition, the show closes with our trademark grand finale, ‘You Can’t Stop the Beat’.
